Dry fruit prices in Pakistan: what you're really paying for

If you've searched for the dry fruit price in Pakistan, you've probably noticed the numbers are all over the place. That's normal. Prices shift with the season, the crop and the exchange rate, and two packs with the same name can look very different once you open them. Here's a short, honest guide to what drives the price and how to tell good stock from tired stock.

Premium Organic Badam Giri American

Almonds (badam giri)

Most almonds sold in Pakistan are imported, which is why the badam price tends to follow the dollar. Badam giri (shelled almonds) costs more per kilo than almonds in shell, but you aren't paying for the weight of the shell. Good giri is plump and evenly coloured, and it tastes sweet and nutty. If a kernel tastes bitter or smells like old cooking oil, it's past its best.

Premium dates

Dates (khajoor)

Ajwa, Mabroom, Medjool, Aseel: each variety has its own size, texture and price, so khajoor prices in Pakistan cover a wide range. For everyday snacking or iftar, look for dates that are soft and slightly glossy, with skin that clings to the flesh. A dry, shrivelled look or white sugar crystals on the surface usually means the dates have been sitting on a shelf for a while.

Premium Sidr Honey

Sidr honey

Sidr (beri) honey comes from bees feeding on beri blossoms, which only flower for a short window each year. That small harvest is the main reason the Sidr honey price in Pakistan sits well above regular honey. Real Sidr is thick, amber to dark in colour, with a warm, slightly caramel taste. A very cheap jar labelled Sidr deserves a second look.

Premium Masaladar Gurr with Dry Fruits

Desi gur (jaggery)

Desi gur is sugarcane juice boiled down until it sets. Its colour can range from golden to deep brown depending on the cane and the boil, and darker doesn't automatically mean better. Fresh gur breaks cleanly and smells sweet, a bit like caramel. Our Masaladar gur adds dry fruits to the mix, which makes it a winter favourite with a cup of chai.

Questions about prices and ordering

What is the badam (almond) price in Pakistan right now?

There's no single fixed rate, because almond prices follow the import market. Our current badam giri price is shown on the product card above and on its product page, and we update it when the market moves. Just remember that shelled giri and almonds in shell are priced very differently, so compare like with like.

Why are some dates so much more expensive than others?

Mostly it comes down to variety. Ajwa and Medjool are premium dates and cost more, while everyday varieties are easier on the pocket. Size, softness and where the dates were grown also affect the khajoor price.

Is your Sidr honey real beri honey?

Yes. Our Sidr honey is beri honey harvested in Pakistan. Genuine Sidr is thick, with a deep amber colour and a warm, rich taste. If you ever have a question about a jar you've received, get in touch and we'll sort it out.

How do I pay for my order?

We work on cash on delivery. Place your order online, and pay the rider in cash when your parcel arrives.
